PANTOU: European accessible tourism directory

Pantou is a register for suppliers of accessible tourism services around the world, catering for tourists with disbilities or specific access reguirements.

There are two exemplary attractions, whose have abilities for accessible tourism:

Archeological Museum of Thessaloniki

The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki is a State Museum of the Ministry of Culture and has been an autonomous unit since 2001. It has been housed in a building, designed by architect Patroklos Karantinos since 1962 and it has been designated as a listed monument of modern heritage, as it is one of the most representative examples of architectural modernism in Greece.

Museum of Byzantine Culture

The Museum of Byzantine Culture which has opened in 1994 is housed in a listed monument, an edifice constructed from 1989 to 1993 and designed by the awarded architect and artist Kyriakos Krokos.  It showcases original exhibits accompanied by informative material and new media installations in order to unfold the various aspects of the Byzantine and Post-Byzantine culture.

As we can see, there aren’ t many attractions for people with disabilities. Adapting attractions for people with disabilities is extremely important because everyone should be able to visit the same places.
