- Patata Kato Nevrokopiou –these potatoes are high in carbohydrates, starch, and proteins. They are cultivated in the summer to be harvested in September, when the temperature is lower and precipitation is higher.
- Tomataki Santorinis – these small tomatoes come from a local variety produced on the islands of Santorini. Tomataki Santorini is a deep red color and has a firm, not particularly moist flesh with a high seed content.
- Florina Peppers – greek pepper cultivated in Western Macedonia and the area of Florina. Florina pepper is bright in color and sweet in flavor. These versatile peppers can be used in salads, sauces, pasta dishes or meat dishes.
- Olives – Greece is the cradle of various types of olives: Athinolia olives, Kalamon olives, Koroneiki olives and Valanolia olives deserve special attention.

- Eggplant – Most often, eggplant is eaten as a paste or grilled with tomato and feta.

- For Greeks food is not only a pleasure but also a way of spending free time.
- During the day the meal of the Greek is modestm limited to coffe, nutsm rusks and pumpkin seeds, the quintessence of the day is the evening feast, which is usually held in tavemas.

We were bery pleased about vegetables in Greece, they were inseparable part of our every meal. They diversified the dishes, giving then an interesting taste, which was freshness and novelty for us. Beinng at the Greek market, we noticed how important vegetables are in the lives of the Greeks, everyone found something for themselves and no one left with an empty purse. The large variety of vegetables is an advantage for people who don’t eat meat, and the vegetarian index in Greece is growing every year.
